Laurence Greenberg, PT, MS, M.Ed. Larry Greenberg

Laurence Greenberg holds two graduate degrees in the fields of physical therapy and physical education/exercise physiology and an undergraduate degree in biology having attended both Wesleyan and Boston University. Larry has extensive experience in orthopedic, spine and sports rehabilitation, having worked at University Hospital in Boston, Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia, and Martha's Vineyard Hospital. He was the strength & conditioning instructor/coach at Boston University and has served as a physical therapist to the Boston Marathon, Philadelphia PGA tour event and Martha's Vineyard Regional High School Football and Hockey teams. He currently holds a Clinical Instructor in Sports Medicine appointment at Boston University Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Center. Larry has lectured on sports injuries at New England Sports Medicine Institute and Children's Hospital, has written over 50 published articles and has done numerous radio and television programs. Larry is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association, American College of Sports Medicine and National Strength and Conditioning Association.

Greenberg Physical & Hand Therapy Associates was started in 2001 and remains the premier private outpatient physical and occupational therapy office on Martha's Vineyard.


Deborah Shipkin, OT/L Larry Greenberg

Deborah Shipkin graduated from Boston University Sargent College with a B.S. in Occupational Therapy. She has had extensive and varied experience in orthopedic and neurologic rehabilitation, working at Braintree Rehabilitation Hospital, University Hospital in Boston, Martha's Vineyard Hospital, and in long-term care and out-patient settings. With her husband Larry, she started "Area Rehabilitation Therapies" in Philadelphia, a private outpatient orthopedic and sports therapy practice. Debbie's area of interest and specialization is upper extremity evaluation and treatment, and she is a recognized member of the American Occupational Therapy Association. Since moving to Martha's Vineyard with their three children in 1995,  Debbie and Larry have provided therapy services to hundreds of islanders, summer residents and visitors.  In 2001, they opened "Greenberg Physical and Hand Therapy Associates" in West Tisbury, thus enabling them to combine their work with their love of the island and family life.
